LAA presents annual new members show

Stamford, CT - The Loft Artists Association is hosting its annual new member show, “New Year - New Artists” in the Phillips and West Galleries at 575 Pacific Street from Friday, January 4 through Sunday, January 27, 2018, with an Opening Reception on Friday, January 11, from 6-8 PM.

“This year’s exhibit will highlight the work of 6 dynamic and diverse artists new to the LAA,” Director, Mark Macrides stated. “We’re always excited to welcome to the organization talented new artists from area communities. Each of these artists brings a unique style and body of work to the LAA, as well as established and upcoming profiles in the local art community.” Their work ranges from contemporary cityscapes in acrylic, to sculptural animals made out of beads, newspaper and other found materials, and on to organic still lives, abstract oils and minutely detailed etchings and watercolors revealing the unseen world. The new members include; Jeffrey Nelson, Carmine Fusaro, Marina Shrady and Valentina Vaillant of Stamford, Dorothy McClure of Darien, and Ann McRae of Greenwich.

The Loft Artists Association currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing artists with a supportive environment and opportunities to exhibit their work in professional galleries. The LAA reaches out to the community at large with education and artistic expression, as well as collaborative projects. Since 1978, their grassroots events have attracted thousands of visitors throughout the tristate area and have been recognized by city and state funding agencies, as well as corporate and private sponsors. The LAA’s educational mission includes workshops and classes, artistic demonstrations and many opportunities for the community to see the creative process first hand.

The gallery is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4:30 pm. Admission and parking are free. Handicapped access is available by request only. For directions and more information visit loftartists.org.
