Gateway Classical Music Society, founded in 2004 to promote classical music and outstanding soloists through live performances of masterworks of opera, symphony and oratorio with the Gateway Orchestra, launched the Gateway Bridgeport Initiative in 2016 to bring opera performances back to Fairfield County, the Klein Memorial Auditorium and the Bridgeport region.
The Initiative’s objectives are to highlight outstanding soloists from all over the world; provide educational enrichment for students; stimulate economic activity for regional businesses; facilitate outreach to all audiences with attractive ticket packages and pricing; and provide hands-on involvement with opportunities for regional choristers, dancers and supernumeraries to be part of a great work of art. November 3, 2018 has been reserved for the Initiative
