Stamford, CT - Stamford Public Schools (SPS) announced that Connecticut PTA recently named Kendra Brown, Stamford Public Schools director of Early Childhood Development and APPLES Early Childhood Educational Center principal, as the 2019 Outstanding Pre-School Principal. Brown was among nine educators honored earlier this month at the organization’s Outstanding Administrators Awards Dinner.
“We can't think of a more deserving individual,” said Valentina Conetta, APPLES PTA president. “It is a pleasure and honor to work alongside her in the PTA.”
The leadership of APPLES’ newly established and first Connecticut pre-school chartered PTA, nominated Brown for the recognition in early March. According to the organization, each candidate was judged on leadership for learning, communication, community involvement and professionalism.
“It was truly an honor to receive this award on behalf of the families at APPLES,” said Brown. “We all know it takes a village to raise a child, and I am so grateful to our families and staff who support our children’s growth each and every day. Our PTA has allowed us to support our children further both in school and while they are at home, a true wrap-around support.”
In addition to Brown, Connecticut PTA also recognized individuals in the categories of Outstanding Superintendent, High School Principal, Middle School Principal, Elementary School Principal, Assistant Principal, High School Teacher, Middle School Teacher and Elementary School Teacher.
