Norwalk, CT – March 12, 2020 – The Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Fairfield County and Connecticut Chapters are accepting nominations for their annual National Philanthropy Day ® Awards Program, to be held on November 13, 2020, at the Trumbull Marriott and Conference Center. The deadline for award nominations is May 1, 2020.
National Philanthropy Day ® (NPD) celebrates the extraordinary changes that fundraising and philanthropy have helped create in our world. The annual awards recognize the Best of Connecticut’s philanthropic trailblazers, mentors, and grassroots workers. Awards for outstanding achievement will be given in six categories: Philanthropist, Youth (ages 5-17 and 18-23), Corporation, Volunteer, and Fundraising Professional.

Past award winners have included outstanding organizations such as Bigelow Tea, Iroquois Gas Transmission System, and Aetna. Lisa Ferraro, CFRE, the chair of Connecticut’s 2020 National Philanthropy Day ® , stated, “We are thrilled to present this exciting program, and especially to honor the often unsung heroes who make charitable organizations so impactful in our communities.”
In addition to the awards breakfast program, this year’s NPD includes a full-day educational conference for professional fundraisers, board members, volunteers, and other nonprofit sector leaders. The luncheon keynote speaker will be Vu Le, a writer, speaker, and former Executive Director of R ooted in Vibrant Communities. His engaging presentation is titled, “Race, Equity, Access, Diversity & Inclusion: Get READI!”
